Rapid Access Solutions manual for Audio Repair software
The RX Cookbook is an Interactive Solutions Manual for iZotope's RX Audio Repair Software. Designed specifically for the demanding needs of music and video post professionals. iZotope RX is the industry standard audio repair tool used on movies and TV shows to restore damaged, noisy audio to pristine condition.
Project Background
iZotope’s RX is software used for repairing, editing, and enhancing audio by interacting with it visually. RX can remove clicks, pops, distortion, reverb, hum, and other noises. It can help with other common audio problems such as inconsistent levels or matching the sounds from different microphones or ambiences.
The iZotope Education Content Marketing team originally sought to produce a "rich media PDF manual" to demonstrate the powerful capabilities of RX. They had determined that most of their users were working under high pressure, time sensitive conditions and simply didn't have time to learn all of the powerful tools and features that RX provides.

Solution:
Based on direct user feedback from dedicated (and vocal) RX users. We developed a free online resource designed to help solve common audio problems. The cookbook features dozens of searchable tutorials that provide step-by-step instructions, audio examples, and videos for rapid repair and enhancement. Giving Musicians and post production professionals alike a range of solutions targeted to their specific needs, with everything from "Reducing Hum and Buzz from a Guitar Track" to "Matching Room Tone and Ambience."
Rapid "Recipe" Solution Access:
Making recipes "findable" under tight time constraints required a searchable index and taxonomy to help users "define their audio problem," Including Keyword Search, Categories, RX tools and software version. In addition the Cookbook required fully responsive, device independent presentation, along with the ability for content updates and submission of user generated "recipes."
Leveraging Drupal CMS powerful indexing, taxonomy management and publishing capabilities, the RX Audio Cookbook is designed to provide solutions to common and audio problems. It follows a format similar to most common cooking websites. Each solution, or “recipe,” has a step-by-step description of how to solve an audio problem, before and after audio examples, and either video clips or images to walk you through each step.
